African Tea Party

Discover Africa with Boho Mini! We'll decorate teapots with African inspired designs, learn Afro Caribbean dances, hear an African folktale, and enjoy tea, juice, and treats from the continent! This event is designed for children ages 4-12 years old. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Kids and adults will walk away with their one-of-a-kind teapot creation! Limited space available.

Seycon Nadia 


Seycon Nadia is a dancer, choreographer and singer specializing in the many dances of the African Diaspora,

including Afrobeat, Soca, Samba, and more!

Of Liberian, and Jamaican heritage, she preserves her cultures through song and dance. 

"My biggest inspiration is my mother who was also a dancer. She transitioned while doing what she loves. I feel closest to her when I'm performing."

Mamba Hamissi 


Hamissi Mamba is a Co-Founder and CEO of Boabab Fare, an upcoming East African restaurant in Detroit.

Baobab Fare is owned and operated by Mamba and his wife, Nadia Nijimbere.

They came to the United States from Burundi in East Africa yearning to start a new life by taking advantage of the business opportunities in Detroit. 

Baobab Fare won the 2017 Hatch Detroit contest to help fund its opening!

Mamba and Nadia have two girls born in Detroit, the city the family now call home.
